What is a free Lateral Flow Test?

When will lateral flow tests no longer be free?

From April 1st, the government will no longer provide invariably free Covid-19 tests. The NHS will keep going to provide both lateral flows and PCRs for free.

However, if you try to order lateral flows online, you will now be asked if you have any symptoms. If you say no, an alert appears stating that most tests are now required for people at higher risk.

Twice-weekly testing for educators and students in childcare and education has already ended. Individuals and companies can get the tests from us at handstations.

Organisations will be required to pay for their testing protocol if they want to keep checking for coronavirus in their staff.

How do the tests function?

LFTs detect material from the virus’s surface proteins. LFTs are simple to perform at home and produce results in 20 to 30 minutes.

Being immunized against Covid will not cause you to be positive on an LFT test.

Who should perform rapid tests?

The testing guidelines for England have changed. Rapid tests should be performed only if:
