At present, rapid COVID-19 antigen testing is being rolled out on a wide scale by the UK Government to aid the mass-testing effort. The Healgen Covid-19 Antigen Test has been Evaluated and Validated by the UK's MHRA/DHSC: 1 of only 3 tests approved for use by schools, hospitals, and the army. The Healgen Antigen test kit is also used by the NHS in the UK.

To this end, the government is encouraging everyone who is eligible to order a lateral flow COVID 19 test kit. You can also take a private COVID test if you suspect that you have the virus. According to the World Health Organization, COVID-19’s incubation period is 5-6 days on average, but this can go up to 14 days. Studies show that the virus is most infectious within three days of showing symptoms. The main symptoms of the disease include a new or continuous dry cough, a loss of taste or smell, fatigue, and a temperature or fever. The Healgen COVID-19 Test is used to diagnose SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. It detects the presence of Coronavirus proteins in a sample drawn from the surface of the posterior nasopharynx and gives results in as little as 15 minutes. This test requires health expertise to carry out and interpret results, you cannot buy a COVID 19 test kit and do it in the privacy of your home.

Follow these procedures to collect the specimen from the patient to test the result. Read the full instructions from the product insert for how to collect the specimen and how to prepare the samples for the test. Please see the 'INSTRUCTIONS' tab for more information.
STEP 1
Collect specimen from patient’s nostril using the swab
STEP 2
Prepare the sample in the extraction tube using extraction buffer.
STEP 3
Place 4 drops of prepared sample in the sample well. Get the results in 15 mins.
When used according to the included instructions, the testing kit will produce one of three results:
POSITIVE: The presence of two lines at control line (C) and test line (T) indicates a positive COVID-19 test result (even if one of the lines is faint).
NEGATIVE: The presence of only the control line (C) indicates a negative COVID-19 test result.
INVALID: If there is no control line (C) after performing the test, the result is invalid

STORAGE: The kit can be stored at room temperature. It can also be refrigerated between 2-30 degrees Celsius. The kit must remain in its sealed pouch until it is used. The test must not be frozen and it must not be used beyond the expiration date printed on the sealed pouch.
