CERTIFLY RAPID LATERAL FLOW TEST KITs for covid-19 (self-testing)
The Certifly Rapid Lateral Flow Test Kit is the latest in innovative COVID-19 testing. The company’s proprietary technology is a self-administered test kit approved by UK regulators that works in tandem with an artificial intelligence (AI) powered app to offer a quick, efficient, and recognised testing solution for international travel.
The test kit itself is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of specific antigens to SARS-CoV-2 present along the mucosa wall on the inside of the nostril. When the testing kit is used correctly according to the instructions, the Certifly COVID-19 antigen test produces results in just 15 minutes with accuracy as high as 98%.
What is CertiFLY?
Certifly is an app powered by AI that allows lateral flow tests to be certified quickly, accurately, and efficiently for international travel.
Certifly has exclusive rights to a MHRA self-swabbing device. This means that healthcare professionals are no longer required to conduct approved tests for travel, thus removing much of the prohibitive cost and logistical issues from current travel testing requirements, especially where people wish to travel together as a group.
Certifly’s proprietary technology unlocks options not only for travel into the UK but also into other countries. Customers can simply take the test with them on their travels and use the app where required.
WHO CAN USE CERTIFLY ANTIGEN TEST KITS?
Travellers who aren’t recognised as being fully vaccinated with authorised vaccines and certificates under England’s international travel rules, will still need to take a pre-depature test, aswell as a day 2 and day 8 PCR test and self-isolate for 10 days upon their return to the UK from a non-red list country under the new two-tiered travel programme. Test to Release will remain an option for unvaccinated passengers who wish to shorten their isolation period.
To find out the latest travel laws for the UK please follow the link below to the Government website.
Fully vaccinated travellers can use the CertiFLY test for their day 2 test after returning to the UK.
CertiFLY Tests can be used to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test for entry into events where proof of a negative antigen test is required. Please be sure to check with the venue that a certiFLY test result is ok as some venue are only accepting the NHS Covid Status.
Anyone testing positive will need to isolate and take a confirmatory PCR test, at no additional cost click here to book in a PCR test, which would be genomically sequenced to help identify new variants.
How does CertiFLY work?
Certifly has been designed to be super convenient and efficient. As a Certifly customer, your journey will look like this:
Sign up to the Certifly app
Complete our MHRA approved lateral flow test (in-app guidance available)
Confirm completion of the test in the app
AI scans for the result and activates your test’s unique QR code (preventing re-use)
AI presents the result – you can then either accept or request a manual review
While this seems relatively straightforward, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes. Certifly is a deep learning convolutional neural network (CNN) that is optimised in image and live video stream analysis. The proprietary AI algorithm that powers the system has been trained with over 220,000 lateral flow test samples. This algorithm analyses the visual result on a customer’s lateral flow test device 100 times in around two seconds and certifies it in real-time with an accuracy of 98%.
About lateral flow testing
COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infectious disease, and humans are generally susceptible. Those infected by COVID-19 are the main source of infection and the disease is spreading rapidly around the world.
COVID-19 is an unusually problematic disease because most of the people infected are asymptomatic. This means that they do not display any symptoms and unknowingly spread the virus around while they have an active infection. Based on current knowledge, the incubation period of COVID-19 is 1 to 14 days, with most infections taking hold within 3 to 7 days. The main symptoms of the disease include a new or continuous dry cough, a loss of taste or smell, fatigue, and a temperature or fever.
The Certifly Rapid Antigen COVID-19 test is intended for the rapid detection of COVID-19 and has been authorised for use in the home by the MHRA. The test is very easy to complete, and results are available in as little as 15 minutes. When used in conjunction with the Certifly app, your Certifly test results can be used for international travel in regions that accept proof of a negative lateral flow test. Please note that you cannot use Certifly’s testing kit and app in countries that require proof of a negative PCR test.
When the Certifly test kit is used according to the instructions, it will produce one of three results:
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a rapid antigen test?
A Certifly rapid antigen test is a chromatographic immunoassay for the detection of antigens specific to SARS-CoV-2 present on the inside of the nostril. The test is taken to:
Test after infection to see if the virus has cleared.
Screen asymptomatic individuals to detect if they care carrying the virus.
Are the tests officially approved?
Yes. The Certifly antigen test is CE marked, ISO-approved, and registered with the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This means they are safe and can be relied upon to deliver accurate results.
Can I use Certifly for travel?
Yes, the Certifly test kit and app have been designed for easier international travel during the COVID pandemic. It’s important to check that your destination country will accept Certifly’s proof of a negative lateral flow test, however. Keep in mind that many countries still require either (i) proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or (ii) proof of a recent negative COVID-19 PCR test for quarantine-free entry so it’s very important to check and double-check before travel.
Can I freeze the antigen test?
No. lateral flow antigen tests should never be frozen. The tests should be refrigerated or stored at room temperature and kept out of direct sunlight. They have a shelf life of 24 months. You should allow your test kit to return to room temperature before use.
Can the antigen test fail?
It’s rare, but yes, the test can fail on rare occasions either by giving an inconclusive result or a false positive/negative. This tends to happen due to user error rather than a fault with the test itself, such as where the patient has not followed the instructions correctly.
